photo story friday

alright, so if you read here at all, you already know about "3 things gone", right? if not, you can read about and link to it on the side bar. I am slowly trying to rid my home of stuff that is clutter. I have two kids and they tend to outgrow things....our family tends to outgrow things. to not use things anymore. why keep them? when I sit and watch family video from when the kids were younger, I not only watch the kids but I also look at the way we lived...the way the furniture was arranged, the way the room was decorated, etc. and I often wonder, why can't our home look less cluttered like it did then? so on to the photo...this is my daughter. yeah, she is really cute but the photo was taken more for the red "lizzy" she is holding. some stuffed something that was won at a carnival or whatnot. she had named it lizzy and for some time, it was all she wanted to sleep with. now, I am the queen of stuffed animals. I still have some stored from my childhood. but we simply can't keep everything! in exchange for her letting lizzy go, I took this photo so she will always remember. (she hasn't seen the photo since we donated lizzy to good will and I will not show her now, either, or it could start a meltdown.)

so, here's to you, lizzy. for the happiness you brought to my daughter. I love you. and my daughter.

Sometimes, it's so hard to let go

Wish I had your will power! I tend to keep a lot of JUNK! (By-the-way, if I looked hard enough, I bet I could find letters I received from friends like you back in the old days!)

You are BRAVE! ;o) My son has his "Pancake" which is a little lamb he sleeps with. I think he may do this until 18 or so. Ha! Ha! I share your discontent with clutter as well. I have a rule - if the toys do not fit in a basket I have stowed away in the living room then we go through them and they get stored, given away or donated.

You're a brave woman. I'm all about decluttering, but those that either sleep with or have slept with are off the table until they are not longer cared about at all. I don't know that I have weeded any of those special ones out yet. I wish I could be better though. :) Good luck with decluttering!

I always have to declutter when the kids aren't home...it makes letting go a little easier. :)
