the first day of school

today, I put my son on a school bus. the first time in his life he has had to take a bus to school. the alarm went off at 6 AM to catch the 7 AM bus. of course, he was ready long before so tomorrow, we are setting the alarm a bit later. my daughter slept until about 6:45. then we all walked him down the street. we did not, however, walk to the next block as that would NOT have been cool. I did sneak some photos, though.
there he is, with his blue colts hat on and his yellow MI shirt. at least some other guys he knows will be on the same bus. I am looking forward to hearing about his day later, once I walk down the street and meet him.....from the next block over.
oh, and does anyone know anything about THIS?

I can't believe J is so grown up!!! Can't wait to hear how the day went. How was H's day? Our kids go back next Monday. I'm getting excited. I have a student teacher this year and I am mentoring a new teacher--who happened to attend our school since I've been there. I'm feeling OLD!!!!! Actually feeling the age I tell my students I am (52)instead of my actual age (37)! (It's fun to 'mess' with them.) Gotta ask, did you cry when he got on the bus and it pulled away? This is such a huge milestone for him--and you.

I DID NOT cry...I was sad, but did not cry. it is strange to not have in the same building as h.

The only reason I asked about you crying is ALL of the teachers at my school talk about how they cry/cried when their kids went to school--kindergarten, middle school, college....
