don't you love reunions?

this photo was taken last summer when my late grandpa's side had a family reunion. I am holding my cousin and all of the other women are either my cousins, cousins' wives, girlfriends or children of family. it was on July 4 so that is the deal with the silly flag headband....

we had a great time catching up with family that we never see unless someone gets married or dies. why don't families do this more often?

as I have already written, we are in the works of planning a high school reunion for late summer. I am very excited to see people I went to high school with. I am hoping to meet up with people who I didn't graduate with as well. my mantra lately has been "life is short"... but too many times, life teaches that lesson in sad and unfortunate ways. why wait to see someone because the time isn't right, or the place isn't right, or you are too afraid of it not being okay, for whatever reason...why wait, I ask...why wait. the time is now, life is precious, don't wait.
