It's like quitting an addictive drug that is killing you. You go cold turkey and turn in the opposite direction and move forward. It's not easy, it's a day at time, week at a time, month at a time thing. There comes a time when you just can't wait around anymore because the window when things might have moved forward has slid shut with neither of you noticing. In the end you have to choose yourself over the game playing and the emotional roller coaster.
