the shed project

alright, so we did some work today. we emptied our shed, well, almost emptied our shed....the idea was to take the remaining halloween decorations from the garage and put them into the shed. since the weather is tolerable for halloween, I said to move the stuff to the shed & make more room in the garage. once we got into the shed, the shelves were unstable and weak. so K had to add the supports you can see in the middle of the shelves. the stuff outside the shed came from inside the shed...the pile of books come from a few boxes I had of teaching accoutrements...the stuff is from long ago and the ones I have pulled out are outdated. I am going to try and donate them to some organization instead of throwing them away. the last photo is of all the stuff we are actually throwing away. I love the idea of donating, freecycling, but sometimes, there are things that just need to be tossed. the hoses, broken. K tried to fix them and cannot. the pinwheels? both are missing parts and don't really even blow in the wind.

if I were to try and add up what we are tossing, maybe...10...including many, many boxes. the books? let's count...eight. plus small stuff that was just tossed out. does tossing count in the things gone this time? I say yes. we did simplify our shed. and that in turn, simplifies our life.

good for you! doesn't it feel good to get rid of things that are just cluttering up your life? nice job. :)
