you know that warm, comfy feeling you have when something is familiar to you? and do you also know the feeling you get in your gut when something familiar to you suddenly is taken away? I am feeling those right now.
we have neighbors who we have known since we moved here. she passed away last summer and now he is having flowers removed, trees cut down, etc. they were not only our neighbors, but friends of ours. I guess I should say, still are friends of our. rather, he is a friend of ours.
I had given my female friend neighbor, whom I will call B, hostas and day lillies in years past. all of them were to be moved. the daughter of the neighbors had to dig up many flowers and throw them away or move them to her home.
the feeling I am feeling inside is sadness.....those flowers, trees, meant so much to B. and now they are gone. today a huge pine tree out front has been cut down, a flowering tree that was near and dear to B is gone and a tree out back is gone.
gone.

why are they being removed? is it just too painful for the other b to see it?
he says it it because he can't take care of them....but hostas and day lillies require almost zero care. they come up in the spring and you mow them over in the fall, end of story. his daughtr finally convinced him to keep some of the hostas and one peony but everything else has been taken out. daffodil bulbs, hostas, one peony, day lillies...not sure why. maybe it is too hard for him but I think he would have told me that. but believe me, next spring, you can have some of my hostas and day lillies...they need thinning every spring!
